Ain’t no sister like the one I got… 💖
Today (and every day), I am THANKFUL for and miss my baby sister, my business savvy go-getter confidant. 💼✨
Raised by the same parents in the same house, sharing the same bedroom, we share many of the same values and beliefs—especially when it comes to careers, business, and professionalism. Choosing to solve a problem or brainstorm an opportunity was always the sweet, safe place where we could get along, share love, and laugh hard. 😊
We are serial entrepreneur sisters. While we never formally partnered together on a business venture, we were go-to sounding boards and counsel to one another’s businesses. My sister has a huge heart and desire to see others succeed, and I am THANKFUL for that. 💕
As entrepreneurs, sometimes the thing that kept us going on the hardest days was the success the other was having. Just knowing that if she could do it, I could do it too or her belief that if I could get past a hurdle, she could overcome it as well. We come from the same stock, so we possess the same abilities and superpowers. 🔥💪 I am THANKFUL that our self-belief manifested as faith and trust in one another.
My sister could work a career where she successfully managed hundreds a day and then go home to build businesses within her household. Whether partnering with her children to create tumblers (and a whole host of products) that we all treasure just a little more these days, being a sounding board providing unconditional support to her husband’s trucking business, or forming a family partnership with her husband and kids to build a legacy brokerage business, she executed with excellence. 🏆 I am THANKFUL for the example she set for me. Big sisters can learn from little sisters. ✨
Whether the best or the worst moments in business (and in life), my sister was one of my first phone calls. With a notebook, a pen, and a phone or laptop, we would research, brainstorm, formulate, implement, and celebrate all things business. And if we pulled out the dry-erase boards and created a Zoom meeting…watch out world! 🌍💻 Just like our grandfathers, we provided business counsel to one another, sharing the joys of our successes and the heartbreak of lessons learned. Today (and every day), I am THANKFUL for ALL the memories and treasure the conversations we shared. 📝💬
Though this week has been the hardest to put into words because my heart hurts and my soul aches in her physical absence, I am extremely THANKFUL for the sister I’ve got and that she is still an angel who walks beside me EVERY DAY. 😇
What are you THANKFUL for this Thursday? 🙏🏽
